Randy & Mary Lou Kula
In January of 1984, Randy (BS ’84) and Mary Lou (BS ’86) were both going to play intramural volleyball. As a coach for the Computer Science Association team, he attended a coaches meeting where he met Mary Lou, who was looking to join a team. She ended up joining Randy’s.
One day after practice, they met at Rascal House to get to know each other. They later ended up going on a date to see Duran Duran at the Richfield Coliseum, and their volleyball team even ended up winning the “b” division championship.
Their relationship continued, and the two continued spending time together at Rascal House, the Shire and campus pizzeria. Randy and Mary Lou got engaged on Sweetest Day in 1986 and were married on April 23, 1988.
They have three children, who coincidentally, all played volleyball from a young age through high school.
“Thank you CSU!” Randy said.
